After a 2-1 victory on Friday at Marywood, the Griffins put together two complete games to complete the three-game sweep over the Pacers with a 5-4 victory in game one and 8-3 win in game two. Griffin Highlights - Game One
- With less then two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the first for freshman infielder Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.), Haines did the best thing a player can do in that position. Haines got the bat on the ball and even though he was thrown out by the third baseman, he allowed junior infielder Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.) to score and give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
- The Red and Gold got their final four runs all in the bottom of the fourth, as Haines reached on a fielding error by the shortstop and scoring senior designated hitter Frank Ebling (Cherry Hill, N.J.) to score (3-2). Senior infielder Nick Price (Levittown, Pa.) showed to the Griffin faithful his wheels as he hit a two runs-batted-in (RBI) triple to left field scoring both Haines and senior outfielder Quin Dye (Conshohocken, Pa.) giving the lead back to Gwynedd Mercy (4-3). The final run for the Griffins was a perfectly placed bunt by freshman infielder Daulton McDonald (Cinnaminson, N.J.), scoring Price and giving Gwynedd Mercy the eventual 5-4 victory.
Giffin Highlighs - Game Two
- McDonald got the scoring started in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to left field bringing home freshman infielder Ryan Horner (Cinnaminson, N.J.) (1-0).
- In the bottom of the third inning, a single from Haines and a double from Price allowed four different members of the Red and Gold to score and put Gwynedd Mercy up 5-0.
- Two good at bats that drew walk from both sophomore outfiedler Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) and Haines gave two more runs to the Griffins in the bottom of the sixth. Sophomore outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.) also singled to centerfield bringing home Price to eventually give the Griffins the 8-3 victory.
