Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (4/16/2024) - Arcadia University (22-10) topped Gwynedd Mercy University (9-19) by a 15-4 margin in today's contest and it could have been more as freshman third baseman Ryan Horner (Cinnaminson, N.J.) knocked down a liner, tagged the runner, touched third base, and threw to freshman second baseman Daulton McDonald (Cinnaminson, N.J.) for the second triple play in Griffin history. Horner (1-for-4) did damage at the plate as well, knocking in a run with his fifth-inning double down the left field line. McDonald was 3-for-3 with a run.

• Gwynedd Mercy University spread their four runs over four innings; senior designated hitter Frank Ebling (Cherry Hill, N.J.) knocked in sophomore center fielder Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) with his single to centerfield in the first inning (1-2), sophomore first baseman Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.) singled home junior catcher Justin Smith (Broomall, Pa.) in the fourth inning (2-11), Horner doubled in freshman shortstop Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.) in the fifth inning, and Junker hit it back through the box to score McDonald in the sixth inning (4-12).
• In addition to McDonald's three-hit game, Junker (2-for-4), Ebling (2-for-4), and Haines (2-for-4) also recorded multi-hit performances.
• The Horner-McDonald triple play is the second in the University's history as Rick Elfreth '15, Dante Cassano '14, and John Burns '14 completed a triple play in 2014.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) schedule on Friday, April 19, when they host Immaculata University for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
