Griffin Highlights:
Game One:
- With a leadoff single for freshman shortstop Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.) and a walk for sophomore outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.), Root was able to knock in the first two runs in the game with a two runs-batted-in (RBI) triple to right field giving the Griffins a 2-0 lead.
- In the next inning (3), junior infielder Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.) was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Senior infielder Nick Price (Levittown, Pa.) doubled down the right field line to put both him and Templeton into scoring position. With just one out, Haines put the bat on the ball and grounded out to the shortstop but allowed Templeton to score (3-0).
Game Two:
- With the Cyclones taking a 1-0 lead after the top of the second inning, senior utility player Frank Ebling (Cherry Hill, N.J.) led off the bottom of the second with a triple to right field. The next batter, Price, hit Ebling home with a groundout to second base bringing the score to 1-1.
- The Griffins would get their final run-in game two as Root started the bottom of the sixth inning with a double, followed by a single from Templeton to bring the score to the eventual 5-2 finish.
