Jake Martell (Levittown, Pa.) recorded his 100th hit on his second at-bat of the frame. After trailing 3-2 at the end of the first inning, the Griffins recovered with four runs in the second inning (6-3), three in the third (9-3), five in the fourth (14-3), and nine in the fifth (23-3). The Defenders trimmed the final to 23-5 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the game was called soon after.

- Graduate first baseman Billy Collins (Hatfield, Pa.) was 5-for-6 with three runs and eight runs-batted-in (RBI). He singled in the first inning, tripled two runs home in the second inning, singled a run home with a third-inning bunt, plated three runs with a home run in the fourth inning, and singled another run home in the fifth inning.
- Freshman right fielder Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) was 4-for-6 with 4 runs and four RBI. He doubled in his first two at-bats, knocking a run in with the latter. He also singled in a run in the third inning, reached on an error in the fourth, and singled two runs home in hid first at-bat of the fifth inning.
- Martell (3-for-5, 3R, BB) and senior designated hitter Nick Price (Levittown, Pa.) (3-for-4, 4R, BB, 2B, 3RBI) recorded three hits apiece.
- Sophomore left fielder Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) (1-for-3, R, BB, 2B, 2RBI) and graduate shortstop Rob Bailey (Abington, Pa.) (1-for-4, 2R, 2BB, 2B, 3RBI) recorded the other two Griffin extra-base hits.
- Freshman Tommy Angelucci (Mount Laurel, N.J.) earned his first collegiate win (1-1). He allowed three runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out six in the first five frames.
