true Randor, Pa. (2/18/2023) - The Gwynedd Mercy University (15-10, 8-4) traveled to Cabrini University (12-13, 8-4) to conclude their 2022-23 regular season. The Griffins came into the game the third seed in the Atlantic East Conference. With a win by 12 points and an Immaculata loss to Marymount University, the Griffins would slide into the two seed and have a first-round bye. With two seconds left to go in the first half, senior guard Elise Sylvester (Pottstown, Pa.) was able to get to the bucket and finish the layup. This allowed Sylvester to reach 1,000 career points, but she was not finished with career numbers. Sylvester finished this game 8-18 from the field, 3-6 from three, and 13-16 from the line to finish with a new career-high 32 points. She also finished with five rebounds, an assist, and two steals. Gwynedd Mercy was able to walk away with an 82-68 victory and also slide into the two seed.

The Griffins' stellar defense forced the Cavaliers into 25 turnovers, accounting for 28 of the team's 82 points.

Gwynedd Mercy battled all day long down in the post and because of this led the second chance points category 13-5.

Senior forward Haley Crossley (Philadelphia, Pa.) continued to come up for the Griffins especially defensively as she had a game-high 15 rebounds. Crossley also finished with 16 points, an assist, and a team-high four steals.

Junior forward Lynzie Eggers (Turnersville, N.J.) came up clutch as she finished the day 5-6 from the charity stripe with some key free throws coming at the end of the game. Eggers finished with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals
The Griffins will wait to play their first playoff game at the Griffin Complex Wednesday, February 22, with their opponent and tipoff time to be determined.
