true Glassboro, N.J. - (11/28/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-3) traveled to Rowan University (3-3) where a tough night defensively for the Griffins allowed the Profs to secure a 93-64 victory. A lone bright spot for the Griffins was senior guard Ava Casale (Washington Township, N.J.), who finished the night with 23 points. Casale came into the game struggling the past few games, but tonight finished 8-of-12 (67%) shooting and 6-of-9 (67%) from beyond the arc. She also finished with a team-high four steals as well as two rebounds and two assists. 
 
Griffin Highlights: 

• Gwynedd Mercy all game struggled to keep Rowan in check offensively as the Profs went 35-of-71 (49%) from the field and 11-of-26 (42%) from three-point land.
• The Griffins came into the matchup as the top-ranked team in combined team rebounds in the Atlantic East Conference, but tonight were outrebounded 49-28. Leading rebounders for the team senior forward Natalie O'Neill (Philadelphia, Pa.) and junior guard Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) only combined for a total of eight rebounds with the former bringing down three and the latter hauling in a team-high five. 
• Eagan came off the bench totaling 22 minutes game time action finishing with 13 points on 5-of-6 (83%) from the field and hitting three of the four threes she took.
• The leading scorer for the Griffins senior guard Lynzie Eggers (Washington Township, N.J.) was held in check only shooting 4-of-13 (31%) from the field finishing with 12 points. 

Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Thursday, November 30, when they return to the Griffin Complex to take on the University of Valley Forge for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
