Aston, Pa. - (10/28/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (10-13, 3-2) traveled to Aston, Pennsylvania, today for the Neumann University (15-8, 3-1) Tri-Match. There the Griffins concluded their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) regular season schedule with a 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-13) loss to the Knights before falling to Lebanon Valley College (15-10) by a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) final. Gwynedd Mercy University won the opening set versus their conference rival, 25-17, but were unable to maintain the momentum in consecutive losses of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-13. Senior outside hitter
Bria Purnell (Reading, Pa.) led the effort with 18.0 points (17 kills, 1 ace). Freshman outside hitter
Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) took the lead versus the Dutchmen with 10.5 points (9 kills, 1 solo block, 1 block assist); the Griffin had their best success in the second set with a .222 (7K-3E-18TA) hitting percentage.
Griffin Highlights vs. Neumann University
- Gwynedd Mercy University hit .205 (43K-17E-127TA) in the match with strong performances in the first (.281; 11K-2E-32TA) and third (.290; 13K-4E-31TA) sets.
