GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy heads into the 2018 Colonial States Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament as the #2 seed and will host a first-round playoff game on Wednesday against third-seeded Neumann right here starting at 3 p.m.

|It's the first matchup of the teams in the postseason since the 2013 season. The Griffins (18-12) will look to better their 3-5 record against the Knights in the CSAC Tournament.

Last Friday, Gwynedd took both games of a CSAC Doubleheader from Neumann (19-21), winning game one, 6-1 and the nightcap, 12-9 for their first sweep of the Knights in regular season play since 2014. Friday's game one victory helped clinch the #2 playoff seed and a first-round home game.

Wednesday's other first-round matchup pits top-seeded Keystone (29-9) hosting the #4 seed Cabrini (20-17). The Giants are the nine-time defending champions. The Cavaliers are making their first-ever postseason appearance in their second season.

Playoff action continues in the double-elimination format on Friday when the games switch to Owl's Field in West Lawn, Pa. Wednesday's winners will meet Friday at 11 a.m. with the winner advancing to the championship series on Saturday. After that game, the losers from Wednesday's game will play in an elimination game with that winner playing the loser of the first game in another elimination game.

Gwynedd was last in the championship series back in 2013 with the Knights in the final in 2014. All three teams will be looking to knock off the Giants.

The Griffins own a 5-1 record against the three playoff teams, taking both from Neumann and Cabrini, while splitting the season-series with Keystone, including a win in LaPlume.

Parking:  Located behind the scoreboard in left field; on the street, paved parking lot, and grass lot

Please note:  Owls Field is lawn chair seating only.  Fans will not be allowed to sit in the upper or lower decks connected to the concession stand/press box. The concession stand will be open throughout the tournament, featuring hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs and assorted snacks and drinks.
