Griffins Cap Regular Season With A Win; Finalize #2 Playoff Seed

Team to host first ever home playoff game on Saturday

ASTON, PA. -- The Griffins closed out the regular season in convincing fashon with a 17-4 victory at Neumann Wednesday night.

Gwynedd Mercy (9-4, 6-1 CSAC) will now enter the postseason as the #2 seed in the CSAC Tournament which starts on Saturday. GMercyU battles third-seeded Centenary at 1 p.m. in the first-ever home playoff game.

In Wednesday's game, the Griffins turned a 5-2 halftime lead into their fourth win in a row, using 12 second half goals to help determine the outcome.

Tony McCraw finished with a season-high six goals and seven points on the night. Jacob Snavely added three scores while Dominic Moscariello, Joseph Pandolfi, and Jordan Dzierzgowski all had two apiece.

The Griffins would open the third quarter with six-straight goals, the last coming from Snavely with 2:09 remaining in the stanza.

Brad Keeney set a program record by winning 23-of-24 faceoffs, while scooping up a personal-best eight groundballs. Marc Bushong had two caused turnovers, giving him 23 on the season, which is a new school record.

As a team, the Griffins fired off 70 shots, good for third all-time in a game. The 64 total groundballs collected were a new single-game record.

GMercyU defeated the Cyclones in their only meeting this season, an 8-6 win back on April 16th
