Men's Hoops Firing On All Cylinders In Win At Rosemont

ROSEMONT, PA. -- With three consecutive wins, Gwynedd Mercy Men's Basketball (8-5, 6-0 CSAC) remains undefeated in conference play after running past Rosemont, 103-71, on the road Saturday afternoon.

In another solid team performance, the Griffins had three players register double digits with an impressive twelve chipping in overall. Going 8-for-11 from the field, Darnell Artis led the way with 24 points going 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Julian Hyden chipped in 20 as he was not far behind going 8-for-12 from the field while also pulling in eight rebounds and two steals. Arron Goodman added 15, matching Hyden's eight rebounds in the contest. Cedric Elleby and Aaron Morgan also added eight points apiece respectively.

Up 48-31 at the end of the first, the Griffins maintained a clear lead throughout the second half. Elleby capped a nine-point run from the foul line early on in the first to put the Griffins up 15-4 with 16:01 left in the stanza. Another 13-point run by the Griffins would widen the gap as Artis dropped a three with 2:14 on the clock to put GM up 48-28.

Opening up the second with a five point swing, GM would take advantage of the Raven's 15 turnovers to build a sizable lead. Up by as many as 37 points with 3:37 left to play, the Griffins held a solid double-digit lead for majority of the game.

Shooting 37-for-61 (60.7%) from the field overall, the Griffins shooting percentage never dropped below 58% in either half. The Ravens were just 23-of-68 (33.3%) from the field and 4-17 from behind the arc.

For the Ravens (5-8, 3-3 CSAC), Marcus Thomas led the squad with 13 points. Clayton Wolf chipped in 12 and Jamier Hughes added 11 respectively.

The Griffins are back in action on Wednesday as they continue conference play at home against Summit University.Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the women who play at 6 p.m.
