PHILADELPHIA, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Men's Tennis Team captured its first-ever CSAC Championship as the Griffins unseated defending champion Neumann, 5-1, in the title match of the 2015 CSAC Team Tournament on Saturday at the Legacy Tennis Center.

The top-seeded Griffins (10-1) earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Team Tournament next month. Selections will be made in a few weeks.

The Griffins swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles play. Peter Brzezinski (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and Alexander Channick (Glenmoore, Pa./Collegium Charter) topped Benjamin Bright and Dustin Broom at No. 1 doubles, 8-3, while Josh Carson (Plantation, Fl./West Broward) and Blaine Grisak (Havre, Mt./Havre) defeated Todd Del Sordo and Trevor Hoopes, 8-5, at second doubles. Kylil Curry (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and Nick Czibik (Brookhaven, Pa./Bonner-Prendergast) clinched an 8-5 triumph over Travis Hall and Nick Manza at No. 3 to complete the sweep.

Neumann registered their first point of the match, winning at #4 singles as Hoopes defeated Grisak, 6-0, 6-0. Brzezinski would use a 6-0, 6-2 win at #1 singles for a 4-1 lead and the title just within reach.

Carson was able to clinch the match with his 6-0, 6-2 victory at #5 singles and the celebration was on.
