BOX SCORESCRANTON, PA. -- The streak is over. Gwynedd Mercy had their regular-season conference match win streak come to an end in a 5-4 defeat at Marywood on Friday afternoon. The Griffins had won 70-straight matches, with their last CSAC defeat coming on September 22nd, 2007 in a defeat at Cabrini.
Gwynedd and their unblemished mark at 10-0 in CSAC play stretched from 2008-2013. The streak started with an 8-1 victory in 2007 over Cedar Crest where the team finished with an 8-1-1 league record.
The Griffins (5-4, 4-1 CSAC) would take two of the three doubles matches. In the singles competition, three of the six matchups went three sets.
The team will look to start a new streak tomorrow when they host Neumann.
