Griffins Exact Revenge, Grind Out Win Over Marywood

Fein becomes program's all-time wins leader in process

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA, -- The Griffins squeaked out a hard fought 5-4 win against Marywood in a rematch of last season's conference championship match.

Having lost half of their line-up from the previous year, which had a combined 85-11 record, the Griffins were short-handed. The match took just under five hours (a record setting match) and came down to the very last singles match, with junior Gabrielle Muller (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) came through in the clutch. winning in three sets.

Senior Rachel Fein (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickton) delivered in usual fashion with wins at #1 singles and #1 doubles with Muller as her partner, becoming the player with the most tennis victories in GM history. She was honered after the game in a ceremony by the team and coaching staff.

The Griffins (9-1, 5-0 CSAC) will get right back at it when they host Richard Stockton on Tuesday.
