GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy scored 10 unanswered goals in the first half to go on a defeat Arcadia, 14-6, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Down 2-0, the Griffins (3-4) ran off 10-straight, including five to end the first quarter, and five to open the second. Gwynedd would head into the break up 10-3.

Senior William Beck (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored three of his game-high five goals in that stretch. Freshman Tony McCraw (Lawnton, Pa./Central Dauphin East) added two scores and three assists and senior Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) contributed two goals and two helpers.

Chris Jacovino totaled three goals and teammate Austin Morris had a goal and three assists for the Knights (3-4). Morris' lone tally came in the game's first minute, followed by a goal from Jacovino at the 7:26 mark. From there, the Griffins ran off five goals in the last 4:47 of the period. Senior Mason Risner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) opened the scoring in the second at the 10:50 mark. Bakeoven, Beck, Dillon Cave (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), and Brandon Ford (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) then added goals to build a 10-2 edge.

Gwynedd would outscore Arcadia, 4-3 in the second half to nail down their third win on the season.

Senior goalie Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) made 15 saves, 10 of which came in the second half. Cory Sonderscharfer recorded nine for the Knights.

GM was good on 17-of-24 faceoffs. McCraw was 6-of-7 while Jonathan Figliola (Weston, Ct./Weston) was successful on 11-of-17 attempts.

The Griffins are right back at it on Friday when they host Richard Stockton in at 4 p.m. a re-scheduled date from March 6th.
