Mangin opened the scoring at the 9:09 mark of the first and later freshman
Blase Cesarone (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) notched his first career tally, one of four man-up goals on the day, for a 2-0 lead. DeSales would answer with two of their own to make it tied at 2-2 after one.
Jared Wiedow netted two of his three goals on the day in the second, to help DeSales take a 5-4 lead, but Mangin answered right before the half as he beat DSU keeper Matt Warnken with a nice behind-the-back shot and again the teams were knotted after two quarters.
The third quarter saw the teams trade goals before the Griffins put together a string of three-straight in the final 1:18 of the stanza on goals from Beck and a pair from freshman
Matt Brasher (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) for an 11-8 lead going into the fourth.
DeSales' James Guerrier would open the scoring in the fourth with his third goal to pull the Bulldogs (2-3) within two. Beck would strike for the fifth time at the 11:07 mark and

GM would go on the man-up after two penalties were called with just over five minutes remaining but could not find the back of the net. Wiedow and Ryan Rowse would score goals just 10 seconds apart and Guerrier beat O'Keefe with 37 ticks left and suddenly it was a one-goal game. DeSales would win the ensuing faceoff and have one final possession to try and force overtime, but a pass across the crease got away as the final horn sounded.
Guerrier would also finish with three goals and Nate Blevins added two and an assist for the Bulldogs.
Bakeoven totaled two goals while Brasher chipped in two assists. Sophomore
Matt Richter (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) also scored for GM.
