Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) tied a school single-game record with 19 saves but Gwynedd-Mercy dropped a 15-6 decision at Albright on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins (1-3) only trailed 6-3 at halftime but the Lions used three-straight tallies to open the third quarter to open up their lead.
Senior
William Beck (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) found the net twice and assisted on another while
Dustan Mangin (Perkasie, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and freshman
Tony McCraw (Lawnton, Pa./Central Dauphin East) each had a goal and an assist.
After the teams traded goals in the first, Albright would score four in a row, the last, a man-up goal from Ryan Turner for a 6-2 edge with 5:14 to before the half. Senior
Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) would score late in the quarter on an assist from McCraw to cut it to 6-3.
Mangin would add a man-up tally late in the third to cut it to 9-5, but Albright was able to pull away with four-straight.
Turner and Phil Potter had three goals and three helpers for the Lions (4-1). Keeper Jordan DiZenzo made seven saves.
Gwynedd-Mercy will look to get back on track when they host DeSales on Tuesday in a 4 p.m. start.
