PHILADELPHIA -- Gwynedd Mercy moved on to the CSAC Team Championship with a 6-1 semifinal win over Immaculata Friday morning at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center in Philadelphia.
The Griffins (16-2) will make their seventh-straight appearance in the final. They will face the winner of the other semifinal, Marywood and Cabrini tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
After Gwynedd took all three doubles matches, senior
Rachel Fein (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) made quick work at #1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 to go up 4-0. A bit of bad luck hit at #5 singles, when senior
Kellie Booth (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) had to withdraw due to injury to give the Mighty Macs (9-9) their first point.
Junior
Taylor Michener (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and
Gabrielle Muller (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) won simultaneously at #2 and #3 singles respectively to clinch the victory.
