IMMACULATA, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy clinched a playoff berth after defeating Immaculata, 13-10, on Saturday for their fifth-straight win.
Three goals each from junior
Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and sophomore
Nathan Pendleton (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) along with 11 saves from goalie
Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) helped pace Gwynedd to their ninth win on the year.
The Griffins (9-4, 5-1 CSAC) will play in a CSAC Tournament Semifinal on Tuesday, May 1st.
Ben Tuscai had a game-high six goals for the Mighty Macs (2-12, 2-4 CSAC) who kept things close for over a half.
Bakeoven netted two goals as part of a four-goal spurt in the third quarter to turn a one-goal lead into a 12-7 edge.
Juniors
Dustan Mangin (Perkasie, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and
Mason Risner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) added two scores each. Risner dished out a game-high three assists.
GM held a 54-31 shooting advantage and won 19-of-28 faceoffs.
Gwynedd-Mercy will close out the regular season next Saturday, April 28th when they host nationally—ranked Cabrini at noon.
