BOX SCORE

WINCHESTER, VA. – Senior Craig Trueblood (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) set a program record with eight goals to help lead Gwynedd-Mercy to a 15-5 thumping of Shenandoah Saturday afternoon in a CSAC contest.

After scoring the game's first three goals, he would add three more in the third quarter as part of a game-changing eight-goal period, turning a tight game into a runaway conference win.

Sophomore Nathan Pendleton (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and freshman Nico Belardo (Columbus, N.J/Northern Burlington) added two score apiece as GM (6-4, 2-1 CSAC) led in almost every offensive category.

Trueblood's three tallies and an unassisted goal from senior Nick Coan (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) sprung the Griffins to a 4-0 after the first. The Hornets (0-11, 0-3 CSAC) answered with three-straight of their own, the last coming with 3:18 in the second stanza to make it a 4-3 game at the half.

Juniors Dustan Mangin (Perkasie, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) also recorded goals for GM. Coan added a game-high three assists, while Mangin and Bakeoven each had two.

Junior goalie Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) needed just five saves. SU keeper Tyler Quinn recorded eight in three quarters of work. Brett Holmes came on in the fourth and recorded three stops.

Gwynedd-Mercy is off Wednesday when they travel to Neumann for a conference battle in a 7 p.m. evening start.
