GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Misericordia swept a non-league doubleheader from Gwynedd-Mercy, taking game one, 6-3, and the second, 14-2.
Game one saw the Griffins battle back from a 5-0 deficit, getting a run in the fifth and two in the sixth, but it was too much of the Cougars' Caitlin Cromley. On the mound, she struck out 12 with no walks and at the plate she helped open the scoring in the third with a two-run single. She would tack on a solo homer in the seventh for some insurance.
Trailing 3-0, Megan Hardy added a two-run homer to left in the fourth to give Misericordia a five-run lead. The Griffins (0-14) got on the board with an RBI single from sophomore
Catlin Nuscis (Chichester, Pa./Chichester).
