Women's Lacrosse Gets First Win

ROSEMONT, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy rumbled over Rosemont, 16-2, on Saturday for their first win of the season and new head coach Nicole Porrecca her first victory.

10 different Griffins netted goals as GM got on the board just 26 seconds into the contest. Senior Shannon Carabba (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield) led the offense with four goals. Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy), and freshman Rachel Irons (Delran, N.J./Delran) all had two goals apiece.

Irons added a game-high three assists while Gaydosh had two.

Brittany Fuller and Klarisse Torriente scored for Rosemont (0-4, 0-2 CSAC).

GM outshot the Ravens 29-11. Gwynedd goalie Marina Hubbard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) recorded six saves.

The Griffins (1-3, 1-1 CSAC) resume action on Monday when they play at Neumann beginning at 4 p.m.
