Northborough, Mass. – (7/27/2026) – The Gwynedd Mercy University women's lacrosse team was one of 357 schools across National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, II, III, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recognized as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squads (.PDF) for the 2026 academic year. In addition, senior attack Brianna Godwin (Telford, Pa.), junior midfielder Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.), junior defender Teagan O'Neill (Pennsauken, N.J.) and senior goalkeeper Victoria Sloan (Philadelphia, Pa.)  were named to the 2026 IWLCA NCAA DIII Academic Honor Roll (.PDF).
 
To qualify for as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, programs must achieve a 3.2 or higher team grade point average (GPA) for the given academic year. Meanwhile, IWLCA Academic Honor Roll members must be a junior, senior, or graduate student that earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater for the given academic year. This year, the IWLCA honored 1,350 student-athletes from 174 different institutions on the 2025-2026 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll.
 
Godwin is a two-time member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll as she previously earned honors for 2024-2025. She inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society in 2026 following a brilliant academic career that included a 2024-2025 Eastern Athletic Communication Association (EAST-COMM) Spring Academic Honor Roll, seven appearances on the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Spring 2026) and four appearances on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) All-Academic Team (2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026). The early education & special education major also served as a 2025-2026 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Team Representative and joined Gordon, O'Neill, and Sloan on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Women's At-Large Academic All-District Team
 
A member of the Gwynedd Mercy University women's soccer team, Gordon was also recognized on the 2025 CSC NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Academic All-District Team and the 2024-2025 CSC NCAA DIII At-Large Academic All-District Team. She was also listed on both the 2024-2025 EAST-COMM Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls. The marketing major minors in digital communications; she is a five-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026) and a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026).
 
O'Neill served as a 2025-2026 SAAC Team Representative. She is a six-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026) and a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026).
 
Like Godwin, Sloan was inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma in 2026. The finance major is a five-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Fall 2023, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026) and a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026).
