EASTON, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy advanced to the CSAC Championship Match with a 6-0 win over Keystone in a semifinal matchup Friday morning at the Northwood Tennis Club.

The top-seeded Griffins (13-1) will face second-seeded Marywood, who defeated #3 Neumann in the other semfinal, 5-0, tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the CSAC Team Championship. Gwynedd will be looking to win their fifth title in a row while the Pacers are gunning for their 11th crown overall. The winner shall receive the CSAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Team Tournament to be held in May of 2013.

Gwynedd made quick work at doubles, sweeping all three matches to go up 3-0. The scoring format in the playoffs has the first team to win five of the nine matches is declared the winner. The Griffins were able to clinch it with exceptional play from their two top guns as senior Chelsea Jones (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua) and Rachel Fein (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) were able to win in straight sets at singles for the fourth and fifth team points. Sophomore Gabby Muller (Washington Twp, N.J./Washington Twp.) also won simutaneously along with Jones and Fein, thus the sixth team point.

The Griffins will shoot for an unprecedented fifth CSAC Championship in a row as no team has won five-straight in the 21-year history of the conference playoff. GM defeated the Pacers, 6-3, in Scranton last Saturday in the regular-season conference finale.
