SCRANTON, PA. -- Marywood defeated Gwynedd-Mercy, 14-4, on Tuesday night, knocking the Griffins out of the CSAC Playoffs.

The Pacers led 2-1 in the first quarter and then scored eight unanswered goals over two and a half quarters thus ending the 2011 Griffin season.

It was a rematch, one day to the year, of last season's semifinal matchup where the Griffins grinded out a 9-7 win en route to their first-ever championship game appearance.

Nick Coan (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley), Dustin Mangin (Perkasie, Pa./Archbishop Wood), Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), and William Beck  (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) all scored for Gwynedd, who has made playoffs in each of its first three seasons of exsistence.

William Roerden led all attackers with four goals and an assist, as the Pacers outshot GM, 42-17. Marywood will advance to the title game to face Cabrini on Saturday.

Gwynedd finishes the season with a final record of 6-9.
