GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy netted five goals and yielded none in the final quarter to go on and defeat Richard Stockton, 10-5, for the first win on the season Wednesday afternoon.

Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored four times, including three in the pivotal fourth quarter and added two assists. Junior
Nick Hummel (Verona, Wis./Middleton) added three tallies as the Griffins outshot the Ospreys, 49-29, with a 16-2 edge in the fourth stanza alone.

Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) made his first career start, turning in nine saves on the day.

Nathan Pendleton (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and sophomore
Mason Risner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) put GM (1-3) up 3-0 early into the second.
Richard Stockon (0-2) responded with three-straight tallies, two on the man-up, to knot things at 3-3. Each team added a score before the half, deadlocking things at 4-4 at the break.
It was 5-5 after three quarters before the Griffins would put the game out of reach offensively and defensively. Bakeoven started the scoring spree with an unassisted score five minutes into the period for a 6-5 lead.
The Ospreys could not figure out a solid defense that only allowed two fourth-quarter shots.
In the last 5:30 of the quarter Bakeoven assisted on the next two goals then helped seal the deal with two goals.
Brent Effenberger led RSC with three goals. Matt Bologno added two assists.
The Griffins had a 31-18 groundball edge while winning 13 of 17 faceoffs.
