WASHINGTON -- Gwynedd-Mercy was held to just two second-half goals in falling at Catholic, 15-6, Saturday afternoon.

Junior Nick Hummel (Verona, Wisc./Middleton) had two goals for the Griffins, who fell to 0-3 on the season. Sophomore Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) added a goal and an assist.

Jimmy Sinnott and Camden Feldman each had three goals for the Cardinals (3-1).

Trailing, 4-2, after the first quarter, and 5-2, 58 seconds into the second, Gwynedd got a pair of goals from Hummel and junior Nick Coan (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) to pull within one, as Coan's lone tally came with 5:24 left.

Feldman and the Cardinals took advantage of a GM penalty to net a man-up goal and an even strength tally in the period's last 2:23 to give CUA a 7-4 edge at halftime.

After Hummel's second goal on the day at the 7:04 mark of the third, Catholic then scored five-straight over the next quarter and a half, turning an 8-5 deficit into a 13-5 hole.

Junior Craig Trueblood (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) and freshman Kurtis Quick (Lebanon, N.J./North Hunterdon) also netted goals for Gwynedd.

Catholic peppered goalie Rich Zagari (Hillsborough, N.J./Immaculata) with 45 shots. The sophomore recorded nine saves.

Gwynedd-Mercy will look to get its first win on the season on Wednesday, March 9th with a non-league game against Richard Stockton, beginning at 4 p.m.
