GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy was upended by visiting Franklin & Marshall, 15-3, in the Griffins' home opener Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Nick Hummel (Verona, Wisc./Middleton) and sophomores Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Mason Risner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) scored for the Griffins, who fell to 0-2 on the season.

Junior Nick Coan (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) totaled two assists.

Billy Kempner led the Diplomats (2-1) with three goals and three assists. Tristan Miller also added three tallies as F&M outshot GM, 36-23.

F&M led 4-0 after the first quarter as Miller scored two goals. He would net his third in the second to give the Diplomats a 6-1 edge. GM trailed at the half, 8-1.

The Griffins will look to rebound on Saturday when they travel to Catholic in a 1 p.m. start.
