GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Wooster scored two goals in the final 6:11 of the fourth quarter to go on and defeat Gwynedd-Mercy, 7-5, in non-league action Saturday afternoon.

Junior Nick Hummel (Verona, Wis./Middleton) led GM with a pair of goals while Stefan Hetland (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) added a score and two assists.

The Griffins (2-5), who trailed 4-2 at hafltime, came back to lead 5-4 late in the third after sophomore William Beck (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored his first career goal. Wooster's Matt Pullara tied it at 5-5 with his fourth goal on the day with 1:55 remaining in the quarter.

Gwynedd could not figure out Fighting Scot goalie Matt Magoon in the fourth, as he made five of his 10 saves in the stanza, keeping GM off the board. Woos

Hummel's tally was the only of the first quarter before Wooster (2-2) netted three-straight to open the second. Hetland set up junior Craig Trueblood (Smithburg, Md./Smithburg) at the 6:38 mark to cut it to one.

In the fourth, Jake Bernard broke the tie before teammate Patrick Schlick added another score with 4:19 left in the contest.

The GM goalie duo of Rich Zagari (Hillsborough, N.J./Immaculata) and Ryley O'Keefe (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) combined to make 12 stops.

The Griffins are off until next Saturday, March 26th when they open Colonial States Athletic Conference play with a road contest at Centenary starting at 1 p.m.
