SELINSGROVE, PA. -- Susquehanna broke open a one-goal halftime edge with five tallies in the fourth quarter while the Griffin offense sputtered in a 9-2 defeat to the Crusaders Saturday afternoon.

Gwynedd used first-quarter goals from sophomores Mason Risner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Roy Bakeoven (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) but that would be all the offense the Griffins (1-4) would register on the day.

The score remained 3-2 at halftime after a scoreless second quarter. Susquehanna's Billy Spack and Justin Caba each had two goals in the fourth to keep the Crusaders (3-0) unbeaten this season.

Despite the offensive struggles, the Griffins did hold 23-19 groundball edge while only commiting 13 turnovers.

Gwynedd will look to get back on track on Wednesday when they host Marymount at 4 p.m.
