2011 CSAC Women's Tennis Team Tournament Semifinal

EASTON, PA. -- Top-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy advanced to the championship match of the 2011 CSAC Women's Tennis Team Tournament with a 5-0 semifinal win over fourth-seeded Baptist Bible Friday morning at the Northwood Tennis Club.

The Griffins (14-2) will face #3 Cabrini, who knocked off #2 Marywood, 5-4, in the other semifinal, tomorrow at 1 p.m. for the title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament in May. Gwynedd will be gunning for its fourth-straight CSAC Crown while the Cavs (12-2) look to add their fifth title.

Gwynedd had little trouble in doubles, winning all but two games in the three matches. Sophomore Rachel Fein (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) scored a win at #1 doubles (6-1, 6-0) to make it a 4-0 GM lead. Junior Chelsea Jones (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua) would close out the match at #5 singles with her straight-set win. The first team to accumulate five of the nine wins is deemed the winner and all action is stopped.
