Griffins make first title game appearance

RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy fell to Cabrini, 20-3, in the championship game of the 2010 Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday.

The Griffins were making their first appearance in the league title game in just its second year of exsistence.

Sophomore Matt Houk (Vienna, Va./Bishop O'Connell) scored two of the Griffins' goals in the first half. Sophomore Nick Coan (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) had the other goal while Stefan Hetland (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) added two assists.

Tournament MVP Casey Grugan recorded four goals and two assists, as the Cavaliers (14-3) won their 10th-consecutive conference championship. 

Gwynedd-Mercy finishes the 2010 season with an overall record of 10-5.
