Roberto Earns AEC Men’s Soccer Honor Roll Mention For Win over Patriots
Lancaster, Pa. – (9/22/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University graduate goalkeeper Andrew Roberto (Churchville, Pa.) was named to the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll after recording four saves and the win (1-0) in the Griffins recent 5-1 triumph at the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 20).
In addition to Roberto, Marymount University junior midfielder/forward Erick Shoetter (Centreville, Va.) and senior goalkeeper Bayron Banegas were respectively recognized on the report as the AEC Men’s Soccer Player and Defensive Player of the Week.
Gwynedd Mercy University (2-5) put together a command performance this past Saturday, as five goals and four Roberto saves earned the Griffins a 5-1 win over the University of Valley Forge (2-5-1). Senior forward Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) got the Griffins rolling just before halftime, breaking through in the 40th minute (1-0, 40:01) off a setup from freshman forward Jackson Stuetz (Willow Grove, Pa.). That goal opened the floodgates for Gwynedd Mercy, who poured in four second-half goals to put the game out of reach.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Tuesday, September 23, as they travel to McDaniel College for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
