Colliluori and Williams Collect AEC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
 
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/24/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University freshman midfielder Elena Colliluori (Gilbertsville, Pa.) and sophomore goalkeeper Nikki Williams (Cinnaminson, N.J.) were mentioned on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll mention following the Griffins’ recent 1-1 week opposite Eastern University (W, 15-12 on Mar. 19) and Alvernia University (L, 2-18 on Mar. 22). Colliluori totaled five points (4 goals, 1 assist), five ground balls, a caused turnover, and 10 draw controls the win over the Eagles, while Williams collected her first win of the season, made 15 saves, and recovered five ground balls in 98:32 minutes against the Eagles (60:00) and Golden Wolves (38:32).
 
Marywood University junior midfielder Kaitlyn Smith (Merrick, N.Y.) was named the AEC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, while Marymount University senior defender Abby Dunn (Pasadena, Md.) garnered the AEC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Colliluori and Williams were joined on the AEC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll by Centenary University (N.J.) junior midfielder/defender Nora Dornich (Belvidere, N.J.) and freshman goalkeeper Autumn Thame-Fox (Voorhees, N.J.), Neumann University junior midfielder/attack Krista Geibler (Morton, Pa.) and sophomore defender Molly Schmeltzer (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.), Marywood University junior midfielder Avery Meighan (Floral Park, N.Y.), Immaculata University fifth-year midfielder Jacki Murray (Malvern, Pa.), and Marymount University graduate attack Riley Love (Leonardtown, Md.).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University opened the week with a 15-12 victory over Eastern University as Colliluori spirited a mid-first quarter run that gave the Griffins an early 4-2 (2:06, 1QTR) advantage. The Red and Gold finished the first frame up 5-3 (0:08) and matched the Eagles in score in the second quarter, 6-4 (11:35), before using a 6-4 third-quarter to separate for the win. Colliluori finished the affair with totaled five points (4 goals, 1 assist), five ground balls, a caused turnover, and 10 draw controls, while Williams recorded seven saves and four ground balls in her first win (1-3) of the season.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University’s fortunes were not as bright against Alvernia University as the Golden Wolves proved to be the superior side in an 18-2 final. Colliluori recorded a shot, while Williams made eight saves over 38:32 minutes in goal.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Wednesday, March 26, when they travel to Kings Port, New York, for a 7:00 p.m. game against the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA).
