Lancaster, Pa. – (3/17/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior shortstop Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.) and fifth-year pitcher/infielder Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) were recognized as members of the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Softball Weekly Report for their play of the Griffins final six games at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. Smith earned the AEC Softball Player of the Week award with a 7-for-13 (.538) week that included a walk, and produced 5 runs and a sacrifice fly that gave the Red and Gold a 9-1, six-inning victory over the State University of New York (SUNY) Morrisville (Mar. 13). Meanwhile, Baumeister went 1-2 with 22 strikeouts in 19.0 innings; she struck out a dozen (12) Mustangs in her win and held Gwynedd Mercy University’s opponents to just eight earned runs on 19 hits and four walks.
