Eisenhart Earns AEC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll Recognition

Lancaster, Pa. – (1/27/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior forward Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in an 0-2 week of league play versus Centenary University (N.J.) (L, 50-68 on Jan. 22) and Neumann University (L, 63-70 (OT) on Jan. 25). Her performances earned her a spot on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Immaculata University freshman forward Carly Coleman (Springfield, Pa.) was named the AEC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Centenary University (N.J.) senior guard Brie Opdyke (Belvidere, N.J.) was named the AEC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. Eisenhart was joined on the AEC Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University fifth-year guard Tessa Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa.), Neumann University senior forward Emily DuPont (Malvern, Pa.), as well as Marymount University senior guard Samantha Bulik (York, Pa.) and junior guard Ella Morrison (South Boston, Va.).

Gwynedd Mercy University welcomed AEC foe Centenary University (N.J.) (12-7, 1-3) to the Griffin Complex on Wednesday night, looking for their second straight league win. The Red and Gold off the tip with an early 5-3 lead (7:16), but a strong second quarter from the Cyclones turned the momentum in the visitor’s favor; 39-22 (0:46). Gwynedd Mercy eventually lost the contest by a 68-50 final that dropped their home record to 2-9 on the season. Senior captain forward Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and Eisenhart were the only two members of the Griffins to finish with double-digit points. The former tallied ten points on 4-of-13 (31%) shooting, while the latter recorded a team-high 12 points going 5-of-11 (45%) from the field.

Gwynedd Mercy University (5-13, 1-4) traveled to AEC rival Neumann University (11-7, 3-2 AEC) for Saturday’s matinee. After a disappointing showing offensively in the previous contest, the Griffins came out with a sense of urgency and only trailed the Knights by one going to halftime; 30-29 (0:31). The second half was similar to the first half as both teams exchanged blows before heading to overtime with a 60-60 regulation tie. In the Griffins’ first overtime encounter of the season, three points in five minutes was not enough to keep pace with the Knights; 70-63 (0:13). Eisenhart finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

Gwynedd Mercy is back in action on Wednesday, January 29 when the team host Salisbury University for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
