Eggers Named AEC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, O’Neill Appears on Weekly Honor Roll

Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week title. Immaculata University senior forward Tessa Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa.) was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Weekly Honor Roll recognition was noted for Gwynedd Mercy University senior forward

Gwynedd Mercy University (4-2) got back into the win column with Tuesday (Nov. 21) night’s 67-54 triumph over Penn State Harrisburg (1-5) 67-54. The Griffins held the Nittany Lions to seven second-quarter points and dominated the paint throughout the contest for a 54-35 advantage on the glass. The result was a 29-19 halftime spread an eventual 13-point victory.
Eggers was 7-of-12 (.583) from the floor with three three-point baskets (3-of-4; .750). She also hit 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line while fueling the Griffin offense with her five assists. Meanwhile, O’Neill was a major factor in the rebounding stats as the AEC-leader crashed the boards for a game, and season-high, 17 rebounds. She also recorded six points, two assists, and two blocks.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Monday, November 27, when they travel to Rowan University for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
