Eide’s Week Earns Griffin Captain Spot on AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/20/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior attack
Jason Eide (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) deposited the game-winner in a 10-9 overtime victory over Nichols College (Mar. 15) and totaled nine points (5 goals, 4 assists), a ground ball, and a caused turnover during the Griffins’ 1-1 week to earn a spot on the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor
Roll.
Junior
Shane Langefeld (Hainesport, N.J.) won the overtime face-off and collected the following ground ball to give Gwynedd Mercy University (1-5) the only extra possession they needed to win Wednesday’s home opener; 10-9. After the face-off, a Griffin timeout set the play and a Nichols College (5-2) foul gave Eide a second look at the last shot of the affair. He finished the contest with six shots and added two assists to his game-winner; setting up back-to-back second-quarter goals with passes to junior attack
Tyler Long (Downingtown, Pa.) (6-3, 0:32) and junior midfielder
Justin Carney (Flemington, N.J.) (7-3, 0:06).
Gwynedd Mercy University visited Delaware University (3-3) for Saturday (Mar. 18) afternoon's contest; early Aggie scores kept the home team ahead 6-3 at halftime and 10-8 at game's end. Eide scored three second-half goals and finished the contest with six points (4 goals, 2 assists), a ground ball, and a caused turnover.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to the Athletic Complex on Wednesday, March 22, when they host Messiah University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
