Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (6/16/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University Head Women's Volleyball Coach Amber Medycki is pleased to officially welcome Steve Barczyk to her staff as an assistant for the 2026 season. "Coach Barczyk's warm and engaging nature, combined with our shared vision for the program, will make an immediate and lasting impact at Gwynedd Mercy University," stated Coach Medycki. "He's eager to get started, and we're couldn't be more excited to add him to our staff." The founder of the youth volleyball program at St. Aloysius Parish School (2021-2025) in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Coach Barczyk is also a member of the coaching staff at the Highline Volleyball Club (2024-present) in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
 
"I'm grateful to Coach Medycki for the opportunity to join the Gwynedd Mercy University women's volleyball program," expressed Coach Barczyk. "The positive and competitive culture she has built aligns perfectly with my philosophy. I'm excited to assist her and contribute to the growth and success of this program." After founding the youth program at St. Aloysius, Barczyk remained on as the head coach for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) fifth and sixth grade teams for the 2021 season. In the subsequent year, he served as an assistant for the fifth and sixth grade (2022-2023) team before head coaching the seventh and eighth grade (2022-2025) team. At Highline Volleyball Club, Barczyk has functioned as an assistant coach for the 11-Pink (2024-2025) and 18-Pink (2024-2026) teams, as well as a head coach for the 15-Green (2025-2026) team. He is double-goal certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and is a Bronze Team level coach through United States of America (USA) Volleyball.
 
Outside of volleyball, Barczyk is employed as a master dispatcher at PJM Interconnection (2020-present). He previously held positions as an operations shift supervisor with the Exelon Corporation (2008-2020) and a chief petty officer with the United States Navy (1998-2008).
