Etter Selected to Philly-SIDA Women’s Volleyball Academic All-Area Team

2025 Philly-SIDA Women's Volleyball Academic All-Area Team: Kate Etter
Philadelphia, Pa. – (12/11/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior outside hitter Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) was one of seven local collegiate student-athletes named to the 2025 Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) Women's Volleyball Academic All-Area Team. A 2025 All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) First Team performer, Etter was Gwynedd Mercy University's points leader (340.0 points) with the league's second best kill total (2nd, 297). Villanova University junior outside hitter Abby Harrell (Ellensburg, Wash.) was selected by the sports information directors for 30 Philadelphia-Area institutions as the 2025 Philly-SIDA Women's Volleyball Performer of the Year.
 
Harrell and Etter were joined on the 2025 Philly-SIDA Women's Volleyball Academic All-Area team by Swarthmore College sophomore defensive specialist Melissa Eyer (Nampa, Idaho),  Eastern University junior Hannah Pringle (East Green, Pa.), Widener University senior outside hitter Elizabeth Barnes (Bethlehem, Pa.), as well as Holy Family University senior middle hitter Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky.) and senior middle/outside hitter Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D.).
 
In addition to kills, Etter also finished among the AEC Top-10 in points (7th, 340.0) and hitting percentage (T9th, .178; 297K-144E-886TA). She was named to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll four times (Sept. 9, Oct. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 3) and finished the season with 297 kills, 19 assists, 29 aces, 217 digs, 3 solo blocks, and 22 block assists. As a 2024 All-AEC Second Team selection, she finished third in the AEC for points (3rd, 319.0; 287 kills, 36 aces, 4 solo blocks, 13 block assists) and hitting percentage (3rd, .203; 287K-121E-817TA), fourth in kills (4th, 287), sixth in digs (6th, 275), and 10th in aces (10th, 36). Etter enjoyed an impressive freshman season (2023) with 257.5 points (217 kills, 22 aces, 8 solo blocks, 21 block assists), 12 assists, and 206 digs.
 
Academically, the radiation therapy major was named to the 2024 CSC College Sports Communicators (CSC) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Team and the 2024-2025 Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Honor Roll. She is a four-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025) and a two-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2023-2024, 2024-2025).
