Scranton, Pa. - (4/27/2026) - All chances of postseason play were dashed with today's results at Marywood University (19-13, 7-5) as Gwynedd Mercy University (9-26, 3-9) loss the opener to the Pacers in six innings; 10-2, before the home team walked-off game two by a 13-12 score. The heart of the Red and Gold lineup showed up big in the nightcap as junior first baseman

Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.) (3-for-5, 3 RBI), junior third baseman
Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.) (2-for-5, 2 RBI), and junior designated player
Maya Hellyer (Quakertown, Pa.) (2-for-3) combined to go 11-for-18 with and seven runs-batted-in (RBI).
Griffin Highlights - Game One
- Down 2-0, Gwynedd Mercy University cut the Marywood University advantage in half in the top of the second inning with a one-out walk to Hellyer, a sacrifice bunt from junior center fielder Sierra Miller (Telford, Pa.), and a ground-out to second base by freshman catcher Ashlyn Merz (Bensalem, Pa.); 2-1.
- The Griffins scored another run to keep pace in the third inning as a two-out double from freshman second baseman Macey Harrold (West Deptford, N.J.), a walk to Smith, and a Cohen single through the right side made the score 3-2.
- Harrold was 2-for-3. Cohen was 1-for-3 as was Kehoe (1-for-3), who led off the fifth inning with a single.
Griffin Highlights - Game Two
- Down to their final out, the Red and Gold entered Merz for a pinch-hit single. After a single from freshman right fielder Lexie Kurth (Baldwin, Md.), a throwing error by the Marywood Universiy catcher, a one-run single from freshman left fielder Stephanie Jones (Hatboro, Pa.) (12-9), a two-run double from Kehoe (12-11), and one-run single from Smith (12-12) the score was even at 12-12.
- The Griffin rallied from a 7-2 deficit, using three runs in the third to reduce the spread to 7-5. Later, they plated three runs in the sixth to keep within a run of the Pacers; 9-8.
- Kehoe was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Smith was 3-for-5 with a run and three RBI. Cohen was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBI. Hellyer was 2-for-3 with a run.
- Sophomore catcher Makayla Mihelcic (Souderton, Pa.) (2-for-4, 2 RBI), and freshman center fielder Giavanna Kanaris (New Egypt, N.J.) (1-for-4, RBI), and Jones (1-for-4, RBI) also knocked in runs for the Red and Gold.
Gwynedd Mercy University finished 2026 with a 9-26 overall record and a 3-9 standing in the AEC.
