Biography

FRESHMAN (2023) - Smith (34gp-30gs) had a impressive rookie season. She finished with a team-high two home runs. Smith finished with eight runs and 12 runs-batted-in (RBI) with a .198 (17-of-86)/.198/.314 (AVG/OBP/SLG) slash line. She also stole one base (1-of-3, .333).

SOPHOMORE (2024) – Smith (38gp-35gs) was the Griffins’ starting shortstop and moved to the heart of the lineup for nine runs and 13 RBI on a .290 (31-for-107)/.328/.364 (AVG/OBP/SLG) slash line. She was hit by one pitch, drew six walks, and stole four bases (4-for-4, 1.000).

JUNIOR (2025) - Smith (34gp-33gs), a first-time team captain, was the everyday shortstop for the Griffins and continued to build on from last season with her most impressive season to date. She finished with a .333 (35-for-105)/.379/.457 slash line. Smith finished fifth on the team in batting average (.333), first in runs (35), fourth in hits (35), second in doubles (6), third in triples (2), third in RBI (18), and first in stolen bases (2-for-2, 1.000). Smith had new career-highs in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, RBI, slugging percentage (.457), walks (7), and hit by a pitch (2). Smith received her first ever Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Player of the week on March 18 when she went 7-for-13 (.538) including a walk and produced 5 runs and a sacrifice fly that gave the Red and Gold a 9-1, six-inning victory over the State University of New York (SUNY) Morrisville.

SENIOR (2026) – Smith (34gp-32gs) tied the Red and Gold’s single-season mark for triples as she totaled 59 bases in all with 30 singles, two doubles, a home run, and her seven triples. The result was a team-high 27 runs and 28 RBI on a .377 (40-for-106)/.419/.557 slash line. The Red and Gold captain drew nine walks and struck out 14 times while stealing a team-high seven bases (7-for-9, .778). She recorded two sacrifice flies and three sacrifice bunts. In the field, Smith posted a .859 fielding percentage with 128 chances, 50 putouts, 60 assists, and 18 errors. She was recognized on the AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll on March 16 and she recorded the 100th hit of her collegiate career with a third-inning single through the box in the Griffins' 4-3 (6 innings) win over Albright College (Mar. 25).
