- Gwynedd Mercy University got a two-out single down the right field line from senior shortstop Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.) in their first at-bat and back-to-back two-out singles from freshman right fielder Stephanie Jones (Hatboro, Pa.) and freshman second baseman Macey Harrold (West Deptford, N.J.) in their third at-bat, but they were not able plate a run in either case.

- Gwynedd Mercy University took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the third inning after plating four Griffins with five hits; with two out, Harrold and Smith singled before a double steal brought the first home (3-1).
- After that, a triple down the left field line from junior third baseman Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.) (3-2), a single from freshman left fielder Sierra Miller (Telford, Pa.) (3-3), and an infield single to second base from Via gave the Griffins a 4-3 edge.
- In the fourth inning, a lead-off triple from freshman right fielder Gianna Trerotola (Blue Bell, Pa.) and a singled back through the box from freshman center fielder Giavanna Kanaris (New Eygpt, N.J.) kept the score close; 6-5.
