West Chester, Pa. - (3/21/2026) - Sophomore Tyson Scheitrum (Harrisburg, Pa.) scored the Gwynedd Mercy University's points early at West Chester University's Purple and Gold Opener with a fifth-place throw in the Discus (5th, 39.89, 4 points) and a third-place throw in the Hammer (3rd, 41.24, 6 points). They finished 10th of 15 teams with 10 total points. Schietrum's throw in the Discus was a University record.

Gwynedd Mercy University competes again on Friday, March 20, when they visit Widener University for the Danny Curran Invitational. The event is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
