Lancaster, Pa. – (3/16/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior shortstop Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.) was recognized for her play at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic with an Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Softball Weekly Honor Roll selection. The Red and Gold captain was 11-for-29 (.379) on the spring trip with four walks, a stolen base, 11 runs scored, and nine runs-batted-in (RBI) over the nine-game stretch.
 
Smith was joined on the AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University freshman outfielder Jamie Green (Southampton, Pa.), Saint Elizabeth University graduate infielder Isabell Edwards (Tolleson, Ariz.), as well as Marymount University freshman shortstop/pitcher Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira (Abingdon, Md.) and senior pitcher/outfielder Bailey Demusz (Doylestown, Pa.). The AEC Softball Player of the Week award went to Marywood University junior first baseman Lauryn Notari (Clarks Summit, Pa.), while the AEC Softball Pitcher of the Week award went to Saint Elizabeth University freshman Jazmin Frias (Palmdale, Calif.).
 
Smith's 11-for-29 performance at the plate was headlined by a two-hit (2-for-3), three-RBI game versus Martin Luther College (W, 17-4 (5) on Mar. 10), a two-hit (2-for-4), three-RBI game versus Lycoming College (L, 5-7 on Mar, 12), and a three-hit, four-run game versus Cairn University (W, 15-9 on Mar. 13). While sporting a .952 fielding percentage at short, she recorded three extra-base hits, stole a base, and drew four walks to bring her opening-week production totals to 11 runs and nine RBI from the three-spot in the Red and Gold line-up.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action back north on Thursday, March 19, when they visit Haverford College for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
