Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/4/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (14-6, 7-2) dominated the second half of this evening's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) affair as they transformed a 44-37 (0:04) halftime spread to a 94-69 (0:02) victory over Marywood University (11-9, 4-5). The Griffins started the game with a 12-point run (12-0, 15:48) and never loosened their hold as senior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) was influential with a game - and career - high 23 points, 10 rebounds for his second career double-double, three assists, and three steals. Johnson was one of four Griffins in double figures; sophomore guard Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) paired his 12 points with seven rebounds, senior guard Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) was everywhere with 11 points, four rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and four steals, while senior guard Jake Okon (Yonkers, N.Y.) chimed in with three threes (3-for-3, 1.000) in a 11-point effort.
