Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) finished the 2025-2026 regular season with another appearance on the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll. The Griffins' backcourt captains led the Red and Gold to a 1-1 final week of league competition versus Centenary University (N.J.) (L, 70-76 on Feb. 18) and Saint Elizabeth University (W, 84-58 on Feb. 21). Snead was Gwynedd Mercy University's most consistent competitor with 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, while Johnson dominated the win over the Eagles with 21 points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals,
Johnson and Snead were joined on the AEC Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University senior forward Donte Dupriest (Philadelphia, Pa.), Immaculata University fifth-year guard Dylan Crews (Philadelphia, Pa.), Marywood University senior guard Andrew Quinn (Webster, N.Y.), and Saint Elizabeth University senior forward Joe Mazzola (Ringwood, N.J.). The AEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award went to Neumann University senior guard Brian Etienne (Coral Springs, Fla.), while the AEC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award went to Marymount University junior center C.J. Highsmith Jr. (Richmond, Va.).
Centenary University (N.J.) (11-13, 9-4) gave Gwynedd Mercy University (18-7, 11-3) trouble all night long as the Cyclones spun a 9-0 (17:30) opening run into a 76-70 victory over the Red and Gold. The Red and Gold could not find their touch as they were 27-of-67 (.403) effort from the field. Snead (8-of-14, .571) and sophomore guard
Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) (6-of-12, .500) were the only Griffins who performed well in the loss; the former led the Griffins with 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and a steal, while the latter finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and a block.
Gwynedd Mercy University capped their 2025-2026 regular season by celebrating six seniors with an 84-58 onslaught victory over Saint Elizabeth University (7-18, 1-13). Before the final tip-off of the regular season the Griffins recognized seniors; Johnson, Snead, guard

Dashon Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa.) for their time and dedication to the men's basketball program. The senior class contributed across the board with 56 of the Griffins' 84 points, 30 of their 51 rebounds, and 14 of their 16 assists. Johnson led all players with 21 points; he was 8-of-15 (.533) from the floor, while recording five assists and four steals. Snead helped direct the Red and Gold with seven points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
As the #2 seed in the 2025-2026 AEC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, Gwynedd Mercy University is scheduled to host #3 Centenary University (N.J.) in an 7:00 p.m. semifinal on Thursday, February 26.
