Lancaster, Pa. – (10/26/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University sophomore goalkeeper
Zoe Davis (Riverside, N.J.) made 11 saves last week including a penalty-kick stop that preserved the Griffins' lead in a 1-0 victory over league rival Pratt Institute (W, 1-0 on Oct. 24). The combined performance earned her the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award. Meanwhile, senior defender/midfielder
Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) made her third Weekly Honor Roll appearance with both Red and Gold goals this week.
Opposite Davis, Immaculata University junior forward Flora Hernandez (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named the AEC Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Gordon was joined on the AEC Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University senior midfielder Mia Perrone (Sicklerville, N.J.), Marymount University freshman midfielder Eleanor Keough (Latham, N.Y.), and Centenary University (N.J.) sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Fogarty (Hazlet, N.J.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (5-12, 3-3) welcomed #18 Swarthmore College (9-1-3) to the Athletic Complex for this Wednesday evening's non-conference affair. The Griffins kept the Garnet off the scoreboard for the first 15 minutes, but once the first tally was marked (1-0, 15:47) it was a quick slide to the eventual 6-1 final. The Red and Gold found some offense late in the second half and broke the shutout when senior midfielder
Bridget Cannon (Bensalem, Pa.) served an 84th-minute corner kick to the successful head of senior midfielder
Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.); 6-1 (83:27). Davis (4-12) recorded five of the Griffins' seven saves in the opening half (45:00).
The Davis-Gordon combo was also a major factor in Gwynedd Mercy University's poignant Senior Day victory over AEC rival, Pratt Institute (7-5, 3-3) as an early Gordon goal (1-0, 6:19) remained the only tally of the contest thanks to Davis' (5-12) brilliant day in net. The Griffin goalkeeper made all six of her saves after the score, including a clutch penalty-kick stop in the 60
th minute (59:32).
Gwynedd Mercy University completes their regular season schedule on Wednesday, October 28, when they travel to Centenary University (N.J.) for a 4:00 p.m. AEC finale.
