Abington, Pa. - (9/3/2025) - Looking to rebound from a Labor Day defeat, Gwynedd Mercy University (1-2) traveled to Penn State Abington (1-1) looking to return to the win column. Both teams had exceptional defense, as there were only ten registered shots on goal in the contest. With just over seven minutes to play, the Nittany Lions found the back of the net, securing a 1-0 victory. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Gablein (Philadelphia, Pa.) started the first half, finishing with two saves, while senior goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) played the final 45 minutes, finishing with a season-high four saves.
Griffin Highlights:
- Senior transfer Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) finished with a team-high three shots in the contest. Gwynedd Mercy only managed five shots in the contest with the other two coming from sophomore defender Paige Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.) and freshman forward Drew Bark (Philadelphia, Pa.).
- The Red and Gold were outshot 16-5 and finished with three shots on goal compared to Penn State's seven.
- Both the Nittany Lions and the Griffins played a clean game as the teams combined for ten fouls (six from Gwynedd, four from Penn State).
