Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (9/13/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-4) nulled an early Ursinus College (4-1) goal (1-0, 23:34) in the 69th minute as junior midfielder Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) completed a corner kick from junior midfielder Bridget Cannon (Bensalem, Pa.) with a clever header at the post; 1-1 (68:09). But the stalemate was short lived as the ultra-aggressive Bear offense eventually stayed on sides for a second score in the 78th minute; 2-1 (77:40), this time a breakaway effort was the Griffins' undoing. Junior defender Jessica Parker (Philadelphia, Pa.) captained the Red and Gold defensive unit in front of senior goalkeepers Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) (45:00 mins., 4 saves) and Natalie Gablein (Philadelphia, Pa.) (1-3) (45:00, 6), while Gordon and Cannon looked to find freshman forward Drew Bark (Philadelphia, Pa.) (3 shots) and senior midfielder Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) (2) for five of Gwynedd Mercy University's eight shots.

Griffin Highlights

• Gwynedd Mercy University had some chances to score early as Bradley sent one high just past the nine minute mark (9:05) and Bark put one on goal midway through the 21st minute (20:37).
• In the second half, the Griffins made better use of their chances as pressure from sophomore midfielder Anna Nicosia (Columbus, N.J.) just before the 60-minute mark kept the ball in the Bears' end. After a pair of corner kicks, the Red and Gold cashed-in on their window with the Gordon header.
• There were only eight fouls in the contest.
