Ewing, N.J. - (8/29/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University opened their 2025 cross country season with some nice warm-up distances at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Blue/Gold Invitational. Three Griffins entered the men's five kilometer (5K) race as freshman Conner Brennan (Hatboro, Pa.) placed 33rd (18:34.10), senior Sebastian DeSimone (West Orange, N.J.) placed 35th (18:46.10), and sophomore Jamar Gauda (Delran, N.J.) placed 53rd (24:52.80); the later two celebrated personal records. The Red and Gold placed sixth in an eight-team field (6th of 8, 157 total points) as freshman Abigail Flannery (Cinnaminson, N.J.) (24th, 13:37.40) and sophomore Ava Ezzie (Drexel Hill, Pa.) (35th, 14:23.00) placed among the top-35 finishers with sub 15-minute times. TCNJ won both events; they provided the first-place finisher in the men's 5K with a run of 16:06.60 from sophomore Moksh Patwari (Bridgewater, N.J.), but Montclair State supplied the winner in the ladies' two-mile with a 11:50.30 effort from senior Abigail Churchill (Oakland, N.J.).

The Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's cross country teams run next on Saturday, September 6, when they visit Lebanon Valley College for the Dutchmen Invitational.
